The Landhaus Ettenbühl is located only a few kilometres away between Freiburg and Basel near Bad Bellingen in the middle of the idyllic Markgräflerland. Originally a private rose garden tended by Gisela and Alfred Seidel, the landscaped park of the Landhaus now covers seven hectares and is kept in best English tradition. Grown over 40 years, it offers over a thousand rose varieties, trees and shrubs from all over the world in 25 themed gardens with different highlights through all seasons. In the unique rose nursery, over 1,000 rose varieties and many companion plants are grown to match the roses. Southern Germany's largest hornbeam labyrinth, a small shop and a stylish restaurant with a beautiful garden terrace can also be found on the grounds. The Landhaus Shop offers beautiful, practical and useful items for home and gardening.

Every Sunday, guests of Landhaus Ettenbühl can take a guided garden tour and learn many interesting details about the care and maintenance of the gardens, the roses, perennials and woody plants and the history of the gardens, which now goes back over 40 years. The tours last about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Visitors can also explore the gardens on their own. Tickets cost between 5 € and 10 € for adults and between 2.50 € and 5 € for children, depending on the season.

Refreshments

The country house offers a B&B with a cosy restaurant and tea garden where guests can enjoy breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee and cake. Picnicking or barbecuing is not permitted on the grounds.

Arrival

The Landhaus can be reached by public transport to the Bad Bellingen regional train station and from there by bus. It is also possible to reach the Landhaus by bike or car. Parking spaces are available right next to the Landhaus.
