The Erdmannshöhle is one of the oldest accessible caves in Germany. Located on the southern outskirts of Hasel, it is situated on the edge of the Dinkelberg, the northern continuation of the Tafeljura and a characteristic karst landscape. The total measured length of the cave is about 2,200m, of which about 360m are accessible as a show section. The cave is home to a large number of very old and large stalactites. The oldest, with a thickness of two metres and a height of four metres, is estimated to be about 135,000 years old and is registered in the Guinness Book of Records. Entrance fees are charged for the visit.

Tour

Various well-signposted circular trails between 3.5km and 10km in length lead away from the Haselbach stream. Particularly recommended is the Panorama Trail (approx. 1.5 hours) with beautiful views of the Hasel and Wehr as far as the Rhine Valley, Bad Säckingen and the Hotzenwald. However, the Erdmannshöhle and the surrounding circular paths are not wheelchair-accessible.
