The Tüllinger Berg is a 460-metre-high, partly forested mountain with a vantage point and panoramic view over the Rhine plain towards the Swiss Jura and the Vosges. The mountain is located in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg, at the border triangle of Germany, France and Switzerland in the territory of the municipality of Lörrach. The Tüllinger Berg is a popular local recreation area for the population and because of the small-scale landscape structure with meadows, vineyards and orchards, the range of hills is classified as a landscape conservation area. Conservationists and bird lovers will find rare bird species here, such as grey, black and green woodpeckers, ravens, cirl buntings, redstarts, turnstones, hoopoes and even orioles. Botanists admire the wild tulips in April. In the area of the "Spitzacker" you can find rough grasslands with orchid occurrences, orchards and species-rich hedge belts. Halfway up the slope, the "Weiler Weinweg" begins, leading through the vineyard landscape towards Alt-Weil (four kilometres).

The information boards on the wine trail, which is located in the middle of the slope, provide a lot of exciting information about the landscape conservation area, viticulture and the different grape varieties.

Tour

The area can be easily explored from the forest car park at the cemetery. From here, the trail can either lead downhill to explore the village with its many art objects, old buildings, cafés and viewpoints, or uphill towards the Lindenplatz square or the Daur hut, where there is also a picnic area with barbecue facilities. At this point there is also a beautiful view towards the Rötteln Castle Ruins and the Black Forest. All paths on the Tüllinger Berg are well signposted.

However, the walk is only partially wheelchair and buggy accessible.

Refreshments

It is possible to picnic at the Daur Hut, but open fires are prohibited. Barbecue sites are therefore available at the Lindenplatz in Obertüllingen. In Ötlingen, but also in the other neighbouring communities, there are several cafés and various restaurants as well as shopping facilities.
