Close to Rixheim lies the important, old cultural landscape with high-trunk orchards, hedges, pastures, fields and copses. Particularly worth mentioning are the old, pollarded willows, the stork's eyrie and the striking poplar groves. The beautiful rural surroundings invite to a walk past the villages of Eschentzwiller and Zimmersheim and offer an easy and pleasant route, ideal for a family outing or to do sports. The viewpoint offers a magnificent view of the Vosges, the Black Forest, the Jura and the Rhine valley.
For a short tour, you can follow the yellow marked path from the lookout point and continue to the edge of the village of Habsheim. There, turn left and follow the blue markings. Continue until you reach the reservoir, turn sharp left just before it and continue to follow the blue markings. After the three large poplars on the right, return to the access path to the viewpoint.
There are various restaurants and catering facilities in the surrounding villages of Habsheim, Rixheim, Eschentzwiller and Zimmersheim. However, there are no fireplaces or picnic areas in the reserve.
